It’s our favorite time of year. Operation Turkey Day is the exact definition of #LOVEbeatscancer. Like us and many of you, the best of memories are made during this special holiday. It’s a time of family, giving thanks but mostly importantly LOVE.

As The Young and Brave Foundation has continued to grow our founders and directors have spent more time in hospitals than most. They appreciate first hand how nothing replaces a home cooked meal and better yet a Thanksgiving feast. Lets be honest, even the best of cafeterias across the country miss the mark after the third or fourth day. With many of our families spending more than 200+ days a year in the hospital and a lot of our WARRIORS not getting to leave at all we had to do something.

Thanksgiving, 2012 Operation Turkey Day was born. At one of our favorite hospitals on the west coast, a group special volunteers served a few hundred people a meal straight from the heart. The thing about giving is how much you actually receive, this event is the perfect example. Something as simple as a meal can change everything and our Operation Turkey Day strives to do just that.

From 2012 to the current date, Operation Turkey Day has served thousands of families at hospitals all across the country. With no stopping in sight we’re already gearing up for this year. From New York to Hawaii and locations in between we’re humbled to serve people on a day that no one should eat alone.
